FOOD BANK

Millions of Kenyans face food insecurity and poor nutrition each year with children being most vulnerable to hunger and serious health problems caused by hunger. Many families living in poverty in Njoro miss at least one meal a day, many have days where there is no food at home at all and so the children have no option but to go to the streets to beg or steal what they can. On the streets, children are at risk of violence, abuse, drugs, and other street life habits.

In 2021, The Potter's House CBO set up a community food bank in Njoro where those who can afford, and have a little extra, can donate food which is distributed to families that are going hungry.

And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”

- Luke 3 v11
